CRT Lenses
I went to an eye doctor last night about getting fit for CRT Lenses. I am PISSED at myself for not doing this years ago.
It's a hard lens that is fitted perfectly over your cornea and it starts to squish your eyeball down so instead of a football shape, it becomes more of a ball. It works only for nearsighted people. And you have to wear them every night like a retainer; but, it's better than lasik where, with MY luck, I'd be blind.
anyway, you only wear these while you sleep, pop them out in the morning and you can see 20/20 all day. You can even sometimes skip a night if you're say drunk or just tired and don't feel like putting them in and still see well the next day. They are excellent for those of us that have dry eyes. The cost is about $1,300 but that's cheaper than lasik and there's no risk of serious complications.
I solved the spider problem too. I sealed my baseboards since there were gaps leading out in to spider land. haven't had a bite since. yay!
You know, I really am funny but i'm not sure where she's been lately. so I apologize to my millions of readers for my lame boring posts.

hmmm, I wonder if those lenses would work for me...my eyesight is BAD.
and I too, love Tina Fey!! She is funny!!!
You're in a transition phase. You could never be unfunny. So don't stress on it.
Let me know they work for you!!!!!
Happy to hear about the spider problem going away.
TK, my hubby had lasik & it was the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed. He had REALLY bad eyes & couldn't do ANYTHING without the big, thick glasses. He had it at 3:00 one afternoon & the next morning we went back to the doctor for follow up and he was the numbers on houses and advertisements. FREAKED us both out!
I worked in the optical field for quite some time. I even MADE contact lenses (hard ones). I also adjusted them for patients if a doctor was having problems fitting the person. That was actually one of my favorite jobs.
You NOT funny, not THAT is funny!
The lens thing sounds like a good idea. Your description of what it is works as well. How long do you have to wear them? Do they dry your eyes out like my contacts sometimes do if worn for long periods of time?
Good idea with the spiders, i would have never thought they could be coming out of baseboards.

You forgot to mention the best part...that you wear them ONLY at night and then during the day you are miraculously glass or contact lens free......wow!!
i FORGOT that part!!! yes they are good for dry eyes ( i have them too ) and they are only worn when you sleep! shit...i might rewrite but right now...too tired.
Oh...you are going to look even hotter without your four eyes. I guess this just leaves me as the "glasses gal"
I never heard of these...my eyes are so bad and I am married to my contact lenses--and Omniman. I should look into these!
wait...did I miss somehting...YOU are funny?
you can always tell when Michelle Ann updates her blog.....she shows up and comments....LOL
Doggy, I still love you even though you hurt me...DEEPLY.
The eye doc recommended it for Owen but he's never worn contacts so thought I'd start him with soft lenses first. I also felt like medical procedures should not feel like a SALES job so got turned off when they were really hyping it (and we just got Owen braces). Do keep us posted! I got the impression it was too late for these old eyes, afterall I am almost Pher's age...;-)
Michelle: I must check your blog everyday hoping that you updated but its only when you show up and comment that I know you did....I didnt mean to hurt your feelings its only an observation.....
Doggy...thank you for appreciation of my very sarcastic demeanor and tolerance of my ever so brief guilty trip. It just one of those quirky traits of mine you will FALL in love with. :)
you are still a slacker though....
total slacker....
Holy crap, where have I been? I haven't heard of CRT lenses but I will be checking them out. I can't see a thing without my contacts in but I'm too chicken to have LASIK.
