Dreena's Cookbooks!
I got both my cookbooks yesterday. Kevin says everytime he looks at me, i'm reading something about food. funny, because everytime i look at him, i see a buffet.
Mmm...buffeeeettt......
Today i'll peruse through them and pick out some recipes to try. and that's IT for my cookbook ordering. i'm addicted to cookbooks. I'm not much of a collector; but, if you came in to my house, you'd think i collected cookbooks and dog hair.
The lottery is at $90 mil. guess who's gonna win it?

I've been cooking from Vive a lot lately. Make the Sweet Curry Chickpea Casserole. It's yum! We had it over basmati rice and a honkin' bottle of Pinot Gris. It was most delightful.

Your weekend getaway looked marvelous, except for the camping part. It's not something I enjoy. I do my best camping at the Holiday Inn. I'm glad a good time was had by all at your end.

My vote on the lottery is for you, I won't win cause I don't play. I just got Dreena's two cookbooks not long ago myself. My husband hates chickpeas... I made Dreena's lighten up felafels, which he realy enjoyed and even took the leftovers for lunch. I'm not going to tell him.

I got Vive a couple weeks ago.. I haven't made anything out of it yet, but have enjoyed reading it.. I should bit the bullet and follow a recipe .. I do with baking, so in the fall, I'm sure I'll be baking a ton.
How's the Kimchi coming? I would definitely let it proof for longer than my 3 days..although my kimchi is good the way it is.. it could be more alive if you know what I mean. I've eaten it on a burger instead of saurkraut.. YUM! Plus I eat a little bit of it everyday. I need to make more since I only have about 1/4 cup left!

okay. i dind't win. neither did anybody though and that somehow makes me feel better that millions of others dreams were dashed.
favorite cookbooks? well they were Suzanne Sommers' and those are amazing. i actually still use her recipes, i just veganize them. now it's really about VwaV, Dreena's, and sarah & tanya's. (garden of vegan)
i didn't get around to the kimchee becuase you have to salt the cabbage for 4 hours adn THEN soak it. i can't seem to find 4 hours so i'll do it tonight.
i can't wiat because i love kimchee...and not that jarred crap either.
I have the Everyday Vegan and my friend has vive le vegan. Take pics of what u cook...
You know, it's funny, my ex said that I was always reading cookbooks like novels and watching the food network, like Iwas obsessed. But he never complained at dinner time! Ande he pretty much became veg after dating me awhile. Oh- and La Dolce Vegan is Sarah's best cookbook.
