Betsy is a masochist

I had her ears cleaned and her nails trimmed; but, her ears are building back up with the black goo. so they kinda hurt her...even when she scratches her OWN ear she yelps.

but in the morning, she's so happy to see me stir and actually get out of bed that she plops her feather-light body on to mine and i grab her roughly (as i'm used to doing with Kody) and squeeze her (and inevitabley) her ears until she yelps. she jumps off me runs away with glee and comes right back for more.

sick puppy.

She has come such a loooooong way from being near death and imitating unwillingly a throw rug. She's happy, full of spunk, rolls on to her back now with a ball in her mouth; in other words - she has found her personality.

She WAS a foster dog...but now she's MY dog.

i dunno...the Merced Animal Shelter named her. i'd like to call her Bobbi becuase her head constantly bobs up and down from being a distemper survivor.

poor betsy.

Sweet little Betsy. You're a good dog mamma, Tanya.

My Bossa Nova also gets a waxy dark build up in her ears. She doesn't have ear mites--she's just a waxy girl. I occassionally use the medicine the vet gave me for this, which really does clear it out--but she hates it--except for the 10 cat treats she get when I'm done.

Fostering is something that I'd love to do, but I'd never be able to give the animal up, either. That's wonderful what you did, and that she's feeling spunky and at home. :)

way to foster girl :)

there is this little cat that sleeps on our porch all day and my son gets all confused because he looks just like our indoor cat. poor kid :) there are many stray animals in our hood. i sneak food (from my husband) out to them & give them hugs and kisses!

Betsy is one lucky dog to have you for a mommy. And you're one lucky mommy to have Betsy and Kody. Terrific post TK.

You have been such a good mommy to Betsy! Fostering is tough, because I couldn't imagine letting go. It sounds like Betsy loves her mommy and is happy and healthy!
