My vegetable garden...

To steer away from poopie talk, here are some photos of my veggie garden. Now, the artichoke plant, i planted LAST year. It gave me one sad little choke so I gave up on it and ignored over the winter to get this:

Here's a baby tomato. It took me MANY tries to photograph this one becuase i could never see it in the lens! BUt i'm GLAD it's there!

Since I have such a small back yard, I decided to utilize what i had, so I now plant tomatoes randomly throughout my yard and protect them from Kody with the metal thingies. I had the HUGEST tomato plants last year that this year there are random wild ones growing in a few spots.

and to put ON those tomatoes...my yummy basil.

Also, not pictured: zucchini, yellow squash, lemon cucumbers, cucumbers, cilantro, sage, chives, red peppers and orange peppers...i think i mentioned this in an earlier blog. can you tell i'm excited?

With your garden and my garden it looks like we should have some cooking parties over the summer. See, you don't have a total black thumb. :)

I have some friends and we are doing a community garden and it is so fun. Stuff is just coming up and I am so excited. I am growing basil and cilantro here at the house but the other garden is big.

Congrats on your garden. I am looking forward to seeing pics of the stuff when it comes up more.

Hey, are you supposed to pull the basil off at the stalk or pinch the top of or what...do you know?

I've never even seen an artichoke grow so seeing that is new to me. I'm so jealous of your weather there!

Sounds like your garden may be just a few months ahead of mine which is still in seed form.

I'm sorry fatonwkkid. i'd hate us too :) actually every year my garden gets better and better too. i really DO have a black thumb.

i'd like more herbs too...and Robin i pinch off the top to bush it out but at the end of the season i just pull it up by the roots and hang it upside down to dry.

Oh I am so envious!! I went from living in a house and tending a lovely garden to apt. living. All I have is a concrete balcony. I threw some seeds down last year and nothing happened. Go figure. The birds came and ate them. This year, I won't bother.

I could not LIVE without basil. Honestly, everything else is replaceable, but honest to goodness, fresh, handpicked basil???! Perfection.
